Software Engineer - Financial Trading

Job Description

We are a small and dynamic proprietary trading firm seeking a C++ developer to join our team. You will be responsible for building mission critical trading platforms and algorithms, and work to ensure trading systems execute at the lowest possible latency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build low-latency trading algorithms under the guidance of senior trading and technology partners
  • Develop expert knowledge of in-house developed core trading systems that drive these algorithms
  • Collaborate on extending infrastructure into the next-generation of exchange connected trading systems
  • Participate in all aspects of systems development including requirements, design, testing, implementation, support, maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and correct defects in existing trading systems and infrastructure
  • Participate in exploring and recommending new technologies

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications/Required Skills

  • Proficiency in C++11 including the standard library, STL containers, algorithms, and templating
  • Competence in object oriented design and programming
  • Demonstrated ability designing algorithms and using data structures with consideration given to low-level memory management
  • Working knowledge of single-server, multi-core, multithreaded programming
  • Ability to work independently and also in a team environment
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills

Desired Skills

  • Experience developing software for real-time performance
  • Python scripting
  • Knowledge of derivatives trading, streaming market data, and/or order management system
  • Linux administration and programming
  • Sockets programming
  • SQL

Education/Experience Requirements

  • 2+ years software development experience in C++11
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Demonstrated aptitude and passion for software engineering
  • Professional software development experience related to financial exchange connectivity a plus
